Fort Monroe, where Hampton Roads flows into the Chesapeake Bay. This fort was built following the War of 1812 and is the oldest fort still is use by the United States Army. But with the long history of the core fort, the base is open to visitors. I, though, arrived at dusk and had no time to see much of the fort.
