It can be very easy to live someplace and never visit its tourist attractions. We just think there's always tomorrow and we have so many other places to visit in other cities. And so to avoid this common pitfall, I get myself out into Masan and hike up their tall 무학산 Muhaksan, a 761 meter mountain on the edge of the city.
A little chipmunk!
A look across central Masan to the bay.
My path up was not the one most-often traveled. It was rough in a few spots, but it fun is in the hard parts.
A look down onto central Masan, Masan Bay, and the ships coming and coming from the harbor.
A broad view across northern Masan.
A broadwalk near the peak.
The Korean flag flies high over the peak of 무학산 Muhaksan, with the stone reading "舞鶴山 761.4m".
Looking west from Muhaksan across rural Masan.
A magpie over Masan.
My path down was quite different than my path up. Near the top are stairs with an easy path through the forest leading down into the city.
